How far away will Pepper Sprays reach?

This information applies to Pepper Sprays and is qualitative rather than quantitative.  There is no specific rule that applies but generally the more the container has in it the farther it will shoot.  As a guideline consider the following in your purchase decision:
1/2 oz = 5 to 7 feet
2 oz = 9 to 10 feet
3 oz = 10 to 12 feet
4 oz = 12 to 15 feet
9 oz = 15 to 17 feet
You can use this as a general guide.  MACE or Bear sprays may or my not follow the same guidelines stated above but in considering a purchase...the bigger the sized container the farther it will deliver.
The effects of pepper spray may vary from person to person, but will last between 15 and 45 minutes. Pepper spray typically has a range of about 10 feet, allowing the user to spray an attacker from a distance. Know the range of your individual pepper spray, as pepper spray products differ.
